The importance of vitamin D for human body has been described in more than 70,000 medical studies. It is necessary for improving overall well-being, regulates mineral metabolism in the body, reduces the risk of respiratory infections, helps to cope with nervous system disorders and even interacts with longevity genes.
At least 1/3 of the world's population still has a constant vitamin D deficiency. How can you tell if you are one of them?

Signs of vitamin D deficiency:
- Frequent infections. Without sufficient level of vitamin D, body becomes more susceptible to infections.
- Low mood. Vitamin D plays a key role in maintaining normal serotonin levels in brain.
- Constant fatigue. When you are deficient in vitamin D, your body cannot absorb nutrients from food, so you simply get lack of energy.
- Weak bones and teeth. Vitamin D regulates calcium and phosphate levels in body and helps prevent osteomalacia and osteoporosis.
- Muscle pain. When it enters muscle tissue cells, vitamin D increases frequency of muscle contractions, helping muscles stay strong and flexible. This protects them from rupture and minor damage.
If you notice signs of vitamin D deficiency, have your blood tested for vitamin D levels at any laboratory. This will allow you to accurately assess the severity of the problem and calculate the optimal dosage of vitamin D supplements.
